    Hi,

New to all of this. I’m going to be hooking up a pi to the inside of a PAL SNES for an authentic gaming experience. I have a good idea what I’m doing, and about to order a controlblock

Just one question though – what is the micro-USB socket on the controlblock for? Does that share the power with the Pi? Or is it needed for the controlblock to function at all?

I plan on hooking the controlblock up to the power/reset buttons and to the LED as well as the controllers.

If its the case that it needs to be powered along with the pi, then a single usb micro power supply won’t do the job will it? So what’s the best alternative?

    Thanks!

A single micro USB power supply is sufficient. You use the micro USB socket from the ControlBlock to power the RPi and have the power switch functionality.
