I recently bought my Pi and have been setting it up for a few days now. I downloaded the 2.2 card image and went to work. But now I noticed that there is a newer RetroPie 2.3 SD image with “big fixes.”

Without wiping my SD card and reinstalling, there *has* to be a way to update and install the bug fixes, right?

I know this is a noob quetion, but I am a noob.

    Thanks in advance, everyone.

I think all you should need to do is run the retropie_setup.sh script and tell it to update either the binaries or use the sources. If memory serves there is also an option to update the script as well, which probably should be done first!

Is faster saving all config files that you modified in 2.2, save Roms, and write the new 2.3 image… Then overwrite config files (Be sure that files are not updated in 2.3, if yes, change them manually ).
