I’ve manged to get most of retropie working but I have a few problems. First is that I’ve got the controller working at emulationstation but when I try to load into to something I can use every button besides the move buttons (both the joysticks and the D-Pad). Any fixes?

The next thing is the Mega Drive/Genesis emulator. I press into it and it makes a noise and seems like it’s loading into it but then it just goes back to where it is. Did I do something wrong setting it up?

Hi, if you are using a usb gamepad this guide should help you: https://www.petrockblock.com/2013/12/02/retropie-autoconfig-functionality/

If you are using a wireless gamepad such as an Xbox 360 pad or a PS3 pad have a look at the RetroPie-Setup wiki: https://github.com/retropie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki

Regarding the Mega Drive emulator the roms need to be in .smd or .bin format and need to be placed in /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/megadrive

    Hope this helps!

Hmm, I’m a bit confused. What exactly do I do with the script thing and where do I do it?

you need to SSH into the Pi and run:

    cd RetroPie-Setup
    chmod +x retropie_setup.sh
    sudo ./retropie_setup.sh

This will start the setup script, then choose the ‘setup’ option and follow the instructions in the first link
