hi
I’m beginning test of reicast emulator.
I installed it through setup-script experimental section
I copied bios files to the right folder
I copied a game (.gdi + 3 other files) in rom/dc folder
But the game won’t launch : the emulator launch, then I’ve 4 menus (play, music, … if I remember well), and when I hit play I have a message “insert game disc”so I’m doing something wrong :-(
isn’t it compatible with .gdi files ?
I have to put .cdi files in rom/dc folder ?thank you for your help
Accepted File Extensions: .cdi
Place your Dreamcast ROMs in /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/dreamcast

yes I’ve seen that
BUT reicast on other platforms is compatible with gdi files
that’s why I’m askingThe only file format it supports is .CDI as noted above….
You could try adding .gdi extension to es_systems.cfg under the Dreamcast option and see if it will work. If it does then we can ammend the source code and wiki to include that extension as well

thanks a lot for pointing me to the right direction !
I edited es_systems.cfg and added .gdi to dreamcast section
and now I can play .gdi roms ; all is working ok ! :-)OK brilliant, thanks for testing that. I’ll fix it upstream so in the future you shouldnt have to change it manually.
Nice work herb, I was assuming that this version didn’t support it, that is huge as gdi helps and makes it easier to get roms. All of my DC games that I have are gdi format, which is a 1:1 direct copy of the dreamcast GDI disk.
