My NES controllers d-pad is not recognized, so I am wondering if a specific device driver is necessary, if its a settings thing, and if there is not a driver for the NES controller specifically, would it be worth my time to make one? kernel.org makes it sound like an input driver for a specific controller isnt difficult (assuming its a D pad and 4 buttons, like the NES controller) without any additional functionality

just trying to think through this NES controller problem

Here is the joystick driver, I have no idea what im doing, im just trying to get this stupid NES controller to work 😛

    https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/drivers/input/joystick/gamecon.c

Is there anything modifiable and recompile-able here or is this too extreme?
