I read that QuickNES runs better in RetroPie than the default NES emulator…Is this true? Is worth the effort of donloading and compiling? Is the differnce substantial? And does it work via RetroArch and use those config files?

I apologize for all the questions, I just don’t want to spend the time and effort to switch over to it if it isn’t really worth it…Thanks!

Try it and see? You will need to edit es_systems.cfg with the appropriate paths, just comment out the existing entry then you can easily switch back. Not had any issues with the Libretro/Retroarch core myself

Yes I imagine I will…The default NES emulator works relatively fine for me, just some games are occaisioally sluggish (ie. Bubble Bobble). I figured if QuickNES didn’t have those issues I’d use it instead. I was just curious if there is some big trade off I don’t know of.
