This is just a idea, but to make it easier than FTPing into the RetroPie, or using the Command Line for file management, can anyone make a file manager/text editor?

I use LXDE for file management/text editing, but it is very slow and clunky.

I hardly even know C or C++ (due to a little bit of experience with Arduino), so I cannot make it.

    Thank you for reading this!

File manager is midnight commander (added as a retropie menu item in 3.0), text editor is Nano. They may be terminalesque but they suffice. Adding extra GUIs and whatnot just bogs down the limited processing of the Pi (hence why LXDE is slow) Takes a little more effort to learn but its rewarding. But if someone has the extra time and expertise for something modular as you describe I can see the value in that for people who prefer a more visual method.
