I bought a wifi adapter, which I heard works right out of the box with the raspberry pi 2. I really need to setup wifi, so that I can use ssh. I have followed this tutorial exactly:
    http://www.howtogeek.com/167425/how-to-setup-wi-fi-on-your-raspberry-pi-via-the-command-line/
and the wifi is still broken
It seems that the raspberry pi just does not want to connect. Can someone suggest any full tutorials that do not require a wipe, as I have a lot of roms on my retropie and it would be a pain to put them all on again.

Also, if this helps, when I try typing in startx, it gives me a tiny screen of what look like retropie console, with colors inverted.

I used the above video and had no issues. Maybe watch it and see if it can help.

YES! Thank you very much! It works, after a simple reboot!
