    Good Afternoon-

I’m completely new to Raspberry Pi/RetroPIE. I just got a Raspberry Pi 3, and set it up:
    Pi Model: 3
    RetroPie Version Used: 3.6
    Built From: SD card
USB Devices connected: Cirka SNES controller, keyboard, mouse
    Controller used: Cirka SNES
    Error messages received: None
    Guide used:
    File:
    Attachment of config files:
    How to replicate the problem:

None of my SNES games will launch at all. They just shift to a black screen and then nothing happens. Not a problem with the built in ROMs or the NES ROMs I ported in. Any thoughts? Help, please!

Does the same thing happen if you try a different SNES emulator?
Press your joypad button or x to bring up the emulator selection screen.

It doesn’t matter what emulator I use- And I followed the advice in the other thread. Not sure what the problem is. Any other ideas?

Have you ever had any of your snes roms working with RetroPie?
If not, try a different source for the rom.

Yep – the ROMs work with no problem on my computer, but when they head over to the Pi, no luck. NES is no problem. Just having the problem with SNES.

    Hi

Did you have any luck with this? I’m having exactly the same issue.

When you try to run one and it fails, what does it say in /tmp/runcommand.log ?

Sorry guys, Ive been away so not been able to check. Thanks for the help.

I’ll have a look at the file you mention Floob when I get home.

Last time I checked SNES though, I discovered its not all roms that do not open. I was testing with Super Mario World, this still doesnt work. However, lots of others do work without any problems.

I ran the same roms on SNES9x on OUYA, without issue.

Does anyone know of issues with the Super Mario World specifically?

    Thanks again for helping.

super mario world works fine for me. try another version? sometimes specific versions of roms don’t work on certain emulators for whatever reason.

I tried a different rom last night for Super Mario, and it worked great! Thanks again all for helping.

Its a tricky business this, quite a learning curve, but each time I fix something my setup gets better and better.

    Cheers
    Dave
