this is what the RaspberryPi fixed vers of NXEngine was compiled with that fixed some issues , however not sure oif directly this blocks X11windows or if its NXEngine itself. but the “Fixed” vers for pi refuses to run under an X11windows session.

Unfortunately, I do not have an XBox controller, so I do not have any experience with setting up xboxdrv. However, there is an an article about that in the wiki. Also, every input device that represents itself as a gamepad/joystick to the OS can be configured wo work with RetroArch and the other emulators that can be installed with the RetroPie Script. Also for that issue exists an article in the wiki.

Currently, NXEngine cannot be installed by the RetroPie Script. There are ports of NXEngine for the Raspberry, however, and if you know of a reliably and satisying working version, I would be glad if you point me into that direction :-) It would even be better, if you could come up with a pull request for the RetroPie Script at https://github.com/retropie/RetroPie-Setup ;-)

    UPDATE:

I have just updated the RetroPie Script and added the libretro version of NXEngine. How come that I did not know this game before? It looks awesome!

Update your version of the RetroPie Script and you can install NXEngine in the source-based installation.

    Enjoy :-)

    That looks really interesting!

I have just asked in that thread how to set up a joystick for that. Do you have any experience with that?

far as i know its only lookin for keyboard controlls. i know offhand the xboxdrv can work with generic gamepads as well and you can map any key to keybaord controlls  i know how to for Xwindows bindings but that fixed  version of NXEngine doesnt play nice with XWindows

just noticed the SD Card image is missing the entore Retro-Arch folder. hence we dont have the joystick config utility.

You can find the RetroArch joystick config utility in ~/RetroPie/emulators/RetroArch/tools/.
