I might be confused about this, but from what I have read. RetroPie syncs with the USB stick? So if I have my roms in the correct folder on the USB then those files get copied over to the PI.

My question is this: Why can’t we just load from the USB stick or via the network using SAMBA? Am I missing something?

    To clarify.

I want to run roms via my USB or over the network. I don’t want them copied to the PI.

You can run them straight from usb, you need to edit es_systems.cfg located in etc/emulationstation/ to point to the flash drive.

If you have found the solution to your problem please mark the topic as resolved.

    Thank you!
