I am running the newest version of RetroPi and having issues with my SNES controller plugged in via a USB adapter. When the screens prompts me to map my buttons only half of them work. I am able to map up, right, and the A/B, but not down or right.

I tried logging in with Filezilla and creating a controller config file, but that still didnt solve the problem. What am I missing?

this might be a strange thing to ask: but is that SNES controller functioning properly? like are those buttons working on another platform/computer?

You could test it on a PC with an emulator
