    Hi folks,

First off, absolutely loving the RetroPie project. Im 35, so grew up with most of the machines we can now sweetly emulate on our pi’s !!

So I got my 7 year old a Pi 2 recently, introduce to the NES etc classics I grew up on, retropie is working great. My only caveat is, the old spare hdmi monitor I gave my kid does not have built in speakers or any audio type jack built into it, so I bought him “MINI PORTABLE SPEAKER FOR THE RASPBERRY PI” from the Pi Hut, it has a 3.5mm audio cable connection that can hook up the the audio jack on the pi, trouble is I assume is my pi’s audio is travelling through the hdmi currently.

How can I change the audio out settings to use the pi’s onboard and not hdmi, while maintaining hdmi for visuals, any advice greatly appreciated.

    Thanks guys.

Run the raspi-config, somewhere in the menu you can force the audio to the 3.5mm jack.
